If you’re coming to the Costa Blanca, we highly recommend a trail that will captivate you with all its charms. To be more precise, this suggested hike takes place in the Benitachel (Cumbre del Sol) area, where you’ll marvel at the outstanding sea views.
Penya-Segats trail: hiking on the Costa Blanca
This walk winds along the stunning cliffs right up to Cala Llebeig. It takes two and a half hours, during which you’ll be astounded by fantastic panoramic views. Here are some tips so that you get the most out of this activity.
What can you see?
Along the trails, you’ll see some caves carved into the rock which were once used as a refuge by fishermen or even, on some occasions, smugglers. Look carefully for proof that local villagers used all the land available up to the coast for their crops.
A wealth of vegetation will also surround you, with everything from rosemary to lavender and much more in between. Mediterranean trees, such as fig trees and olive trees, are also omnipresent.
As the morning sun here is very intense, we recommend doing the hike in the afternoon during the summer months. This means that the two and a half hours will all be in the shade, making the walk much more pleasant.
If you’re thinking about a family day out, children won’t have any problems until the point heading down to Cala Llebeig. Here, the terrain is bit trickier, so kids might not be able to reach the end.
And our final tip is to enjoy the hike to the max!
