Today 10 February multitude of municipalities of the costa blanca and, above all, of the Marina Alta carnivals.

Among them we highlight the carnestoltes of Pego which does not leave indifferent to any of its thousands of visitors it receives every year.

The Carnivals of Pego are one of the most well-known of the Community Valencia and people from the community and from all parts of Spain don costumes and come to this traditional feast.

This town of the province of Alicante is full of light, music, laughter and color to welcome to the thousands of people who congregate in these days to celebrate the great feast of Carnival.

As is tradition a week before the start of the Carnival is celebrated the “baixada del riu Bullent” where many participants gather to perform disguised as a race for the river with boats that have made themselves and which should not lead engine.

On the feast of the carnival is celebrated the Pinyata and the Burial of the Sardine. Alone, with the family, as a couple or with friends, get ready a good disguise because you’re going to need it.

Also other towns celebrate carnival:
• Moraira that celebrate carnival from day 6 until 11 February
• Gata de Gorgos Day 10 February
• Calpe the day on February 10 with different acts for kids and
• Javea, 10 and 11 February with different acts.
Also Pedreguer, Denia, the Verger and Jalón celebrate the day 10 or 11 the carnival.
The next week the day 17 are held in Benissa and in Pego we have the famous burial of the sardine.
